🥤: Cherry Almond Chunk Smoothie
Cherries and chocolate… What could be better?
I started making and selling Allie’s Smoothies at my work over five years ago and it has been my pleasure watching clients fall in love with smoothies and wish to make their own healthy versions of them at home! Here is Cherry Almond Chunk recipe 😜
Ingredients:
1/2-1 cup of frozen organic cherries
3/4-1 cup of crushed ice
Water to fill fruit and ice line
1 serving of chocolate protein powder (this is the one I use at work!)
1 tbs. of organic cacao powder
2 tsp. Barlean’s flax oil or 1/2 an avocado
1-2 droppers of liquid stevia (I like it sweet!)
12-14 raw almonds
Directions:
Measure the frozen fruit, ice, and water in your smoothie cup
Dump the cup in your Vitamix blender or any blender
Add your protein powder, cacao powder, flax oil or avocado, and liquid stevia
Blend until it comes out creamy and thick (or to taste)
Add 12-14 almonds and blend on low for 10-15 seconds (you want to blend it long enough so the almonds get crushed enough to fit in your sipping straw)
Top with cacao nibs and enjoy!
