Healthy Fats Are Not The Enemy!

Fats are sooo important! Eating breakfast and starting your day off right is too. I like to eat an hour within waking up (after my coffee and mct oil) and definitely before I go about my day. I am a much nicer person.

If you ever find yourself in a funk (like me), it’s usually because blood sugars are low or you haven’t properly eaten… Meaning giving your body what it truly needs.

Everyone is different, but fats seem to have a universal effect on people! They are so good for you!

Fats are essential in our diet. They help us absorb nutrients and give our cells structure. Omega-3 fats too, like salmon and walnuts, are vital for nerve, brain, and heart function.

My mother raised us on quality fats and protein

examples of Fats that help you thrive

  • Avocado (1/4-1/2)

  • Almond butter, peanut butter, or any other good nut and seed butter (2 tbs. is all you need!)

  • Nuts and seeds counted out (about 100 calories each)

    • 19 Almonds

    • 3 Brazil nuts

    • 10 Cashews

    • 10 Hazelnuts

    • 5 Macadamia nuts

    • 16 Peanuts

    • 30 Pistachios

    • 4 Whole Walnuts

  • 2 eggs (make sure they’re pasture-raised and organic!)

  • Green olives (10 small = 60 calories)

  • Oils (1 tbs = about 120 calories)

    • Extra Virgin Olive oil

    • Avocado oil

    • Coconut oil

    • Butter (Ghee)

  • Salmon (any fatty fish)

A handful of nuts or a scoop of peanut butter are perfect snacks!

  • Safflower oil

These oils are in so many dressings, condiments, crackers, and chips! Be sure to check labels and read ingredients!
